Our historical society and museum has an excellent genealogy library, with trained personnel to assist your search.  Many of the old records of Henry County have been moved to the museum.  The Henry County Museum is located approximately 1/2 block off the northwest corner of the downtown square. www.henrycountymomuseum.org

Our library has a wonderful genealogy department, which includes Henry County newspapers dating from 1877 to 1972, maps and listings of all cemeteries in the county, and census data for 1840, 1850, 1860, 1880, 1900, and 1920.  Many personal family history books have been donated. http://tacnet.missouri.org/hcl/

The Henry County Health Department has birth records dating 1920 to present and death records dating 1980 to present.  Any records dating prior to 1920 have to be requested from the state archives.  Forms available at Health Center.  The State of Missouri and Henry County Health Department charge a $10.00 fee for copies of records.
